Burger King chases authentic BBQ experience with UK beer sales pilot
Burger King is set to gather data on demand for beer at its outlets with a pilot of its sale in the UK.
The fast food chain, which recently unveiled an in-store redesign to best capture the spirit of barbequed food, has applied for alcohol licences at four of its 654 UK venues.
Outlets in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Blackpool, Hull and Bury St Edmunds will benefit from the initiative, which Burger King hopes could attract greater footfall with the incentive of plastic cups of beer.
Consumers at these locations will be able to pick up a beer from 10am to 11pm seven days a week.
A spokeswoman for Burger King in Britain said: “We’re just catching up with the rest of the world, really.”
