Lloyds Bank has launched a £4 million Christmas campaign promoting its partnership with Apple Pay.

A new 40 second ad, created by RKCR/Y&R, has rolled out across national TV and online promoting Lloyds Bank’s new partnership with Apple which now allows its customers to use their bank cards for purchases through Apple Pay.

The ad, titled #loveyoutothestars, shows a young girl pursuing the impossible Christmas present of giving her mother a star before her dad comes to the rescue with Apple Pay. The ad closes with a touching moment showing the girl saying “I love you to the stars” with her mother replying “I love you to the stars and back”.

Ros King, director of marketing communications at Lloyds Banking Group, said the new campaign focuses on the “sometimes difficult task of finding that elusive perfect gift," to “demonstrate the ease and simplicity of paying with your Lloyds Bank card and Apple Pay and really bring to life the emotion of this very special time of year".

As part of the campaign RKCR/Y&R are also producing an illustrated children’s book which will be available to Lloyds Bank customers as a free-to-download ebook via iTunes.
