Burberry has signed up some of the biggest British stars from the worlds of film, music and modelling to star in its 2015 Festive campaign, premiering tonight at 19:00.
Included in the three minute film will be Sir Elton John, James Corden, Julie Walters, Romeo Beckham, Naomi Campbell, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Michelle Dockery, James Bay, George Ezra and Toby Huntington-Whiteley who will each pay tribute to the film Billy Elliot by reinterpreting its iconic opening sequence.
The film will splice original footage from the film as well as sourcing the original soundtrack, ‘Cosmic Dancer’ by T Rex with Burberry donating £500k to charitable causes in Easington, County Durham, where the film was set.
Christopher Bailey, Burberry chief creative and chief executive officer said: “Billy Elliot is an incredible film full of so much joy and energy, so it was a real thrill and a great honour to be able to celebrate its 15 year anniversary through our Festive campaign. It was also a huge privilege to work with such amazing and iconic British talent – the cast are quite simply some of the biggest names in film, music and fashion and it was so much fun working with them all to make this special film.”
The piece will premiere at a launch event in Burberry’s flagship London store before being unleashed on the fashion brands social media accounts and will run in tandem with a separate stills campaign across print and digital, shot by photographer Mario Testino.
