French cognac brand Martell has unveiled a redesign of its Martell Cordon Bleu cognac as it celebrates a 300-year history.

To bring a fresh look to the brand, Martell worked with design agency Nude which was briefed to update the packaging with a design to reflect the luxury nature of the product and its premium position in the market.

Nude looked to Martell Cordon Bleu's history and brought back the two-part label alongside newer elements such as Martell's crest and swift. The signature of creator Edouard Martell is also given prominent positioning.

Partner at Nude, Mike Parsonson, compared the redesign to a "careful restoration project" given the brand's long history.

“We were inspired by the brand’s rich history and wanted to celebrate its ageless elegance. What is more, the reference to the historic two-part label and its modern interpretation and unusual shape should provide genuine stand-out on shelf.”

Along with Martell Cordon Bleu, Nude has also updated the packaging for Martell VSOP which both launch during the brand’s 300th year.
