Twitter has announced that its first ‘promoted moment’ will debut this weekend with the movie Creed, a Rocky spin-off.

The social media giant launched ‘moments’ just a few weeks ago to make it easier for people to find out what’s happening in the world through a number of live feeds that curate tweets around categories like news, sports, and entertainment.

The new feature lets users browse through some of the top stories of the day – recent examples include ‘Back to the Future Day’ and the New York Mets’ journey to the World Series – while looking at different images, videos, Vines, and GIFs relating to each ‘moment.’

While ‘moments’ are put together by Twitter’s curation team or contributed by publisher partners like BuzzFeed or Entertainment Weekly, ‘promoted moments’ are assembled by the brands themselves. They stay up for 24 hours and are marked with a promoted badge, but appear alongside all other ‘moments’ and have the same look and feel just like Twitter’s other native ad products.

This Sunday, Twitter begins testing the new format in the US with the film Creed starring Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone. The movie comes out on 26 November
