Twitter extends polling feature to all

Twitter has expanded its built-in polling feature to all users, a move designed to fuel opinions and debates on the social platform.

Available on Twitter’s iOS and Android apps as well as its main website the functionality will allow anyone with an account to create a poll of their choosing.

Outlining the change product manager Todd Sherman wrote: “For poll creators, it’s a new way to engage with Twitter’s massive audience and understand exactly what people think. For those participating, it’s a very easy way to make your voice heard."

Published polls will be open for voting for a 24 hour window, after which time participants, although they will not know who or how specific individuals have voted.

Poll options will be restricted to just two alternatives for the time being.
