Brief Twitter outage causes widespread (social media) panic
Twitter was unavailable to users across the world for a short time on Thursday afternoon as the service suffered from an outage.
The social network, which just last month hosted the #FacebookDown hashtag during the rival social network’s outages, became the host of such an issue itself.
Ironically avid tweeters were left without a suitable platform to share the news of the outage.
A Twitter spokesman: "The issues some users may have experienced accessing Twitter earlier today have now been resolved."
Some social media users shared their thoughts on the incident using the #TwitterDown hashtag.
If #twitterdown happens where do we go to find out about #twitter???
