Steven Tyler, the enigmatic front man of Aerosmith, has demanded that Donald Trump, the equally enigmatic front man of the American right, stops using the band’s hit ‘Dream On’ on the campaign trail.

Tyler’s lawyers issued a cease-and-desist letter to the Republican presidential candidate to stop using the song, which they claimed "gives a false impression" of support from the band.

The letter read (according to the BBC): “Trump for President does not have our client's permission to use Dream On or any of our client's other music in connection with the campaign because it gives the false impression that he is connected with or endorses Mr Trump's presidential bid.

"If Trump for President does not comply with our demands, our client will be forced to pursue any and all legal or equitable remedies which our client may have against you."

Meanwhile, Aerosmith is the third band to have dissociated itself from Trump with Neil Young and REM doing so earlier in the year.
