Rapper and producer Kanye West has lashed out at smartphone apps that allow kids to make in-game purchases.

The multi Grammy winning artist took to Twitter to air his frustrations, joining parents worldwide who have voiced similar grievances with app makers.

In a series of tweets, the ‘Gold digger” rapper said: “F— any game company that puts in-app purchases on kids games!!!” West wrote. “That makes no sense!!! We give the iPad to our child and every 5 minutes there’s a new purchase!!! If a game is made for a 2 year old, just allow them to have fun and give the parents a break for Christ sake.”

In an ironic twist, West’s wife Kim Kardashian’s own app is rammed with in-app purchases, which parents have criticised due to its perceived failure to ensure kids can’t make unauthorised purchases. The app, which CNN claimed generates $700,000 for the reality TV star, lets players live like a celebrity by spending real money on virtual things.
