M&C Saatchi CEO, Lisa Thomas, leaves for new role at Virgin Enterprises

M&C Saatchi has announced that its chief executive, Lisa Thomas, is leaving the agency to join Virgin Enterprises.

Thomas, who joined M&C Saatchi in 2000, made the announcement today, citing a desire to undertake new challenges in her career.

Having joined the ad agency to found its direct marketing agency, LIDA, Thomas help develop grow the agency from one staff member to 150. She was appointed chief executive of M&C Saatchi in 2010 while continuing to head LIDA which was named Customer Engagement Agency of the Year by Campaign in 2013 and again in 2014.

Speaking to The Drum Thomas said “I have loved working with such an incredible team of people for the last 15 years. I have had the opportunity to experience so many aspects of business life, from founding LIDA to most recently leading the merger between Lean Mean Fighting Machine and M&C Saatchi. And I feel the time is now right for me to move on to the next exciting stage in my career.”

During her tenure, Thomas helped build the agency’s portfolio of expertise, aligning with social media agency, Human Digital, in 2011, and acquiring the talent management company, Merlin, in 2013 to create M&C Saatchi Merlin.
