Smith is to sit on the brand activation agency's executive committee to drive purchase behavior.
Geometry Global UK has hired Martin Smith as chief strategy officer and managing partner.
Joining from the same role at Havas’ Cake + Arnold KLP, Smith has over 20 years’ experience as a strategist and agency leader. He is responsible for award-winning campaigns across all communications disciplines and has held executive planning positions at Saatchi & Saatchi, Mother and BBH.
Smith will work closely with chief executive Sarah Todd to oversee the agency's strategic product across all clients including Heineken, Vodafone, GlaxoSmithKline and Coca-Cola. He will also lead the agency’s strategic consultancy, Geometry Intelligence.
Commenting on the appointment, Todd said: “From the moment I met Smith it was clear we share the same passions: building and leading great teams, customer experience and journey intelligence, big activation ideas and turning brand fame into fortune for our clients.
"He is a pioneer, a collaborator and has a great track record of transforming behaviour through brilliant insight," she added.
Smith will take on the new post from January 2016.
