Insights Sho.com:

  • Nothing has changed at the Top of our Show list. Since the start of Season 3 in July, “Ray Donavan” continues to lead the pack, ranking 1st place with an extraordinary 28.97% of traffic share.
  • "Masters Of Sex” is losing a bit of traffic share in comparison to last month, yet the show is still ranked 2nd. Season 3 will be completed on September 27th 2015, so it will be interesting to see what happens then.
  • Season 5 of “Homeland” is soon to debut and the series has already managed to gain traffic share. Perhaps fans are revisiting the previous season in preparation for the highly anticipated new season.
  • “Shameless” almost doubled its traffic share from the previous month, although the last season ended on April 5th this year. However the series secured 4th place in rank with an impressive 12.17%, following closely behind “Homeland”.
  • Although the last season of “Dexter” aired two years ago, the show continues to captivate audiences. It has moved up in rank from last month, from 6th place to 5th with 6.79% of traffic share for August.
  • Season 2 of “Penny Dreadful” ended on July 2015, closing out the month in 3rd place on our list. This month the show lost viewers and dropped 3 places in rank to 6th place, with just 6.56% of traffic share. Most likely traffic share will increase once the next season starts.
  • Season 2 of “The Affair” is set to launch on October 4th, and the show has maintained their 7th place rank from last month.
  • Surprisingly, “Californication” made it this month in our Top Ten Show list for August. The last season ended on June 29th 2014, but the show still managed to make it to 8th place in rank with 4.18% of traffic share.
  • “Nurse Jackie” continues to be in the bottom of our list also this month. With 2.20% traffic share the series came in to rank at 9th place.
  • “The L Word“ continues to lose viewers and therefore closes out our Top Ten List for August 2015 on rank 10 with only 2.08% of traffic share. It should be noted that both series “The L Word” and “Nurse Jackie” ended some time ago.

Insights ShowtimeAnytime.com

  • On showtimeanytime.com “Homeland” secured rank 2 with 15% of traffic share. This is more traffic share than the series managed to accrue on sho.com.
  • Due to the ongoing season, “Masters of Sex” positioned itself within our Top Three Shows closely behind “Homeland”.
  • The rank place of “Nurse Jackie” on showtimeanytime.com is the opposite from rank place on sho.com. On sho.com the series ranked in the bottom while on showtimeanytime.com the show has managed to maintain viewers, despite ending last year. • Although cancelled by Showtime after only 3 season, the series “The Borgias” somehow attracted viewers in August and therefore secured a spot on the list at 10th place.
  • Season 4 of “House of Lies” ended March 29th 2015, but the show continues to be in our Top Ten List and even managed to gain traffic share.
  • Just like on show.com, “Penny Dreadful” continues to lose viewers on showtimeanytime.com. The series commands just 5.67% of traffic share, having lost 7% from the previous month. However it should be noted that the current season just ended, which may be the reason for the drop in interest.

Insights for HBO.com

  • John Snow and the Mother of Dragons are still in the minds of the GoT fans. With no mercy to other series, “Game of Thrones” continues to lead our Top Ten Show List with 30.75%. Although the show lost over 20% from previous month, it’s still far ahead of the competition.
  • In the current season of NFL show “Hard Knocks” Texas is the hosting team. The show has been on the air since 2001, and it seems that the series continues to attract a lot of viewers.
  • Last Week Tonight with John Oliver is one of this month’s big winners. The comedian and host managed to gain almost 6% more traffic share. With 14.15% of traffic share he secured his rank as one of our Top Three Shows for August 2015.
  • On the other hand, “True Detective” is one the losers this month. The show lost viewers and made it to just 4th place this month with just 13.67% of traffic share. This is probably due to the end of season 2 on August 9th.
  • Like John Oliver, Bill Maher won quite a few viewers this month. In the current season of his popular political commentary show, Bill Maher increased his traffic share in August and ranked in 5th place.
  • Season 1 of “Ballers” received good reviews from critics, but the show lost a few places in rank from the previous month. Last month the show commanded 6.32% of traffic share. By contrast, this month the show ended up with just 5.27% traffic share.
  • This month we welcome the miniseries “Show Me A Hero” which made it into our Top Ten Show List of August. The show aired for the first time in August 2015 and has already managed to grab a spot on our list.
  • “The Brink” and “Silicon Valley” and “VICE” all lost rank place in August. All three shows combined have only 7.66% traffic share and are ranked in at 8, 9 and 10 respectively.

Insights for HBO GO:

  • With a whopping 19.78% of traffic share, “True Detective” outranked GOT and took the lead on our Top Ten Show List for August 2015 on Hbogo.com.
  • John Oliver’s “Last Week Tonight” was also very successful on Hbogo.com this month. The show secured strong rank place on both sites (hbo.com / hbogo.com) with excellent results. On Hbogo.com he almost made it to rank 1 with a staggering 19.24%, nearly neck-in-neck with “True Detective.”
  • The unthinkable has happened: ”Game Of Thrones” actually lost about 9% of traffic share and is now ranked 3 with 18.96%.
  • Despite lackluster results on hbo.com, “Ballers” is pretty successful on hbogo.com. With 11.88% the show ranked in at 4th place, far ahead of “The Brink” (Rank 5) and “Silicon Valley” (Rank 6).
  • “The Brink” and “Silicon Valley” are not performing too well in terms of traffic share on hbo.com. However on hbogo.com, both shows managed to attract more viewers and therefore positioned themselves in the safe midfield.
  • With 4% traffic share lost, “Entourage” finished this month at rank 7 with 5.83% of traffic share.
  • It appears that “The Sopranos” had a revival this month. The show ended 2007, but viewers are still drawn back into the infamous mafia show.
  • Like last month, the crime drama series “The Wire” made it in our Top Ten list. This month the show did not manage to increase their traffic share.
  • New in our Top Ten is “Curb Your Enthusiasm”. Rumors are circulating that HBO is looking to produce a new season of the legendary comedy show. Maybe that can account for renewed interest in the show.
