The comical reaction from Sky Sports presenter, Thierry Henry, to the departure of Liverpool boss Brendon Rodgers has proven immensely popular online with a Vine capturing the moment generating over 18m views in under 24 hours.

The news of Rodgers' sacking broke on air during the post-match analysis of Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Manchester United. Sky Sports announced the news during the broadcast in its temporary studio at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.

Henry’s reaction was to grasp the thigh of his colleague, Jamie Carragher, and blow out his cheeks as he mouthed 'Ooooooh!'. The former Liverpool defender tried to maintain his composure over the news and the thigh touching with an awkward stony faced expression.

The Frenchman’s attempts to console his fellow Sky Sports presenter has caused a rapturous response online with one Vine of the clip amassing over 18m loops in 24 hours.

Rodgers' sacking had been rumoured for weeks and followed on from Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with their Merseyside rivals Everton.
