TiVo this week released results from a survey that looked at which new fall TV shows are among the most highly anticipated.

While 12 of the top 22 and eight of the top 10 most anticipated shows are dramas, The Muppets – which is coming to ABC – tops the list. Also bucking the trend within the top 10 is Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris, which tied for seventh overall.

“TiVo’s survey data show that most new shows have not yet broken through the awareness barrier for the upcoming fall season,” said TiVo Chief Research Officer Jonathan Steuer. “However, TiVo’s OnePass™ rankings throughout the fall will provide an ongoing read of what shows viewers are selecting to record. These rankings will provide early and continuous insights into which shows are breaking through in a competitive programming environment where failure is the norm.”

Among the most highly anticipated returning shows are ABC’s Modern Family, CBS’s The Big Bang Theory, CW’s The Flash, Fox’s Gotham, and NBC’s The Blacklist.

Below, additional key findings followed by a chart of the new series TiVo subscribers intend to watch:

- On the cable front, the top overall returning favorite shows among survey respondents are AMC’s The Walking Dead, BBCA’s Doctor Who, and FX’sFargo.

- Nine percent of respondents report they do not plan to watch any of the new fall TV series.

- More than half of respondents are aware of the new fall TV series sneak peeks being offered on the TiVo platform.

- Close to half of all survey respondents find TiVo’s related fall TV information to be useful.
