To promote this Sunday’s Emmys and next week’s premiere of The Muppets TV show, recently broken-up couple Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy star in a video alongside other celebs including Modern Family actress Julie Bowen and How to Get Away with Murder star Viola Davis.

The two meet at an LA restaurant for a pre-Emmys power lunch, where Miss Piggy says “I can’t wait til next year. We’ll be here preparing to accept our Emmy’s” – but Kermit makes it clear to his former lover that the meeting is strictly professional.

Things starts to get out of hand when a congratulatory bottle of champagne is sent over to their table from Bowen. Miss Piggy is suspicious because she thinks it has been poisoned by the Modern Family star to “eliminate the competition” – so she walks right over to Bowen’s table to confront her.

Miss Piggy then runs into Davis in the bathroom where the Emmy-nominated actress asks her how she’s doing post-breakup.

“I’m fantastic. He’s heartbroken though,” she says.

Back at the table, Kermit is about to order his meal when Miss Piggy rushes them out. Paparazzi line the street outside and as pictures are snapped of the two together, Kermit realizes it was all a setup to make his new girlfriend Denise, or as Miss Piggy calls her, ‘Dennis,’ jealous.

Kermit then runs into Joel McHale and tells him “It’s not easy being green,” to which McHale says “It is now,” as he gets into Audi’s hybrid car.

He quickly apologises to Kermit in case he had misconstrued the comment, making it clear that he wasn’t trying to be racist – he meant green as in “good environmental stuff.”

The video was created by agency PMK*BNC.
