Kaltura, a leading video technology provider, announced this week the launch of an ‘OTT platform in a box’ that will make it easy for video publishers and broadcasters to create OTT apps. The service, which is called OTT Now, will build upon Kaltura’s existing OTT TV platform and will enable customers to go to market in as little as two months.

Perhaps most importantly to customers is that the solution will enable them to monetize in a variety of ways, including subscriptions, in-app purchases, ad-funded and freemium.

OTT Now will also benefit viewers and end users. Amir Segev, Kaltura’s VP Product Marketing, TV and Media, tells Found Remote: “This includes starting the service fully ramped up from a capabilities perspective - whereas many other services are rolled out with basic capabilities and bells and whistles are added gradually.

“From initial launch, OTT Now include social capabilities, content discovery, a fresh and slick user experience, advanced personalization, intuitive easy to use interface to manage household accounts, and new supported devices like Roku and Amazon Fire.”

With global OTT revenues expected to reach $51.1 billion by 2020, Kaltura – with products like OTT TV and OTT Now – is well-positioned to help itself and its customers capture a significant part of the pie.
