A Conservative infiltrator has been outed at a Jeremy Corbyn rally after being spotted by the eagle eye of Channel 4’s Michael Crick, setting the scene for one of the reporter’s trademark on-camera ambushes.

Pouncing on his third row victim from behind Crick announced his arrival by asking ‘Mr Watkinson?.... Mr Watkinson of the Conservative party?’

Caught in a tight spot the aforementioned Mr Watkinson attempts to brush off the remark with a laugh before promptly making a bee line for the exit through throngs of confused Corbynites with the camera crew in tow.

Hot on his tail Crick enquires: “What are you doing at this meeting? Were you attempting to gather intelligence? Were you sent here by Conservative party headquarters?”

A Conservative party spokesperson said their member was attending a ‘public event’.
