Live streaming mobile app Periscope looks intent on a living room invasion by developing an app for Apple’s much-hyped TV device.

One of the apps to feature on Apple TV app will be a Persicope app enabling users to tune into the livestreams on the network... and perhaps share their own footage.

Twitter-owned Periscope is just one of many apps looking to secure itself as a household staple on the iOS service – other apps, to date unconfirmed, will be announced this evening (Wednesday 9 September).

The move will mark the first time Periscope makes the move onto TV having now built up a loyal userbase through its iOS, Android and on the web.

Since bursting onto the scene earlier this year in a real-time video hype storm, especially at SXSW, Periscope has surpassed 10 million users and 40 years of video just four months after launching.
