The Drum has learned that Rudd will take over the running of the agency from Giovannoni who it was announced would leave Ogilvy last month with Annette King, chief executive of Ogilvy & Mather Group UK, taking temporary charge.

Rudd, who has been with BBH for 16 years, was promoted to COO last year having previously served as managing director since 2008.

At the time of writing The Drum was awaiting comment from Ogilvy but had learned from BBH that Rudd would depart in November and would not be replaced in the short term. He is expected to take up his new position in January.
