Turn has appointed Google's director of brand development Richard Robinson as managing director for its EMEA business.

In his new role, he will lead the Europe, Middle East and Africa region for Turn, working with customers across brands, agencies and trading desks.

At Google, Robinson was responsible for digital strategy, prior to which he worked as vice-president at IDC, where he led the global market intelligence firm’s consulting and marketing services business in Europe.

Commenting on the appointment, Wendy MacGregor, Turn's chief revenue officer asserted: “Robinson has a deep understanding of digital marketing that will be invaluable for Turn’s customers.

"He brings to the firm almost 20 years of experience assisting companies in the building of brands and the implementation of innovative go-to-market strategies. Marketers are now using data to develop sophisticated approaches to reach and engage customers across the entire consumer journey. He is very well placed to lead the team in supporting brands towards this goal.”

Robinson sits on the advisory boards of a number of companies and associations, serving as chair of the IDM B2B Marketing Council, and is also a regular speaker at industry events and conferences.
