ABC:

  • The Chew, one of the top American cooking themed talk shows continues to reign supreme in ABC’s top-10 list and is even growing its dominance. In July, this show was responsible for a whopping 63.90% of all visits to the top 10 shows on the website increasing it’s relative share (last month it was 42.25%). This is truly unprecedented performance that can only be compared to the overwhelming popularity of Game of Thrones on HBO.
  • Dating game show The Bachelorette has secured the second spot two months in a row. Despite the fact that this spin-off aired back in 2003, the show has managed to keep its audience in front of their monitors for over 10 years now.
  • Both Mistresses and Battlebots went up in ranking, taking over third and fourth positions respectively.
  • Another talk show, The View, is not a new show (actually, it is the fourth-longest-running national daytime talk show in history), but a newcomer to the top 10 list.
  • The Astronaut Wives Club is a new show based on the book of the same name (written by Lily Koppel) that was launched only in June 2015. After some delays, it is already winning acceptance among its viewership, occupying a solid place in the middle of the top 10.
  • Canadian police drama series Rookie Blue broke into the top 10 list. Growing popularity of the series in June may ride on the wave of anticipation for the new fifth season that premieres on August 18.
  • The Whispers, a science fiction show launched in the beginning of June, drew huge interest last month, but it may have been a reflection of audience curiosity and expectations for the new show. In July, however, the hype around the show decreased and it fell to number 8.

CBS:

  • Reality TV still dominates the top 10 CBS list, as Big Brother maintains over 50% of relative traffic. Other networks trail significantly in reality TV shows with the next best being The Bachelorette on ABC with a 15% of relative share. Another CBS reality TV show, Survivor, took a nosedive but remains in the top 10.
  • Detective show Criminal Minds climbs to the third spot, more than doubling its share, which is representative of the strong following investigative dramas are garnering, such as Rookie Blue and Bones.
  • Newcomer drama, the Zoo, takes its place among the top 10 at number 6, highlighting its popular start since its debut at the end of June.
  • Another newcomer, Extant, is a sci-fi drama executive produced by Steven Spielberg. With a robotic twist, Extant starring Halle Berry enters the top 10 list at number 8.
  • Two classic sister soap operas grace the CBS top 10, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. 42 and 28 years after airing, these timeless shows still make the top 10.

NBC

  • Yet again, there was no competition with Jimmy Fallon who leads the NBC top 10 list with The Tonight Show two months in a row.
  • Surprisingly, America’s Got Talent jumped straight into the NBC top 10 list and secured second place grabbing an amazing 17% of relative traffic.
  • On air since 1992, Dateline is the longest running prime-time program on NBC. The Dateline fan base pushed the show back onto the list for July.
  • Aquarius, A.D. The Bible Continues, and I Can Do That could not maintain their spots on the NBC top 10 list from June 2015.

Fox

  • So You Think You Can Dance overthrew Wayward Pines to take first place on the Fox top 10 for July 2015.
  • Also in July, Masterchef maintained its spot in the top 3 while Family Guy secured again a rank in midfield. Two other animated shows made the July top 10, The Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers.
  • Bruce Wayne deserves a warm welcome to the top 10 for July with the show Gotham at number 9.
  • The show Gone is Gone from Fox’s July top 10 list as was the comedy Brooklyn Nine Nine.
