Graeme Pitkethly has served as general manager for the UK & Ireland since July 2014. Gina Boswell will move from New York to replace him on 7 September.

Pitkethly joined Unilever in 2002 and served in a variety of finance-led roles, latterly senior vice president of finance for all geographies before becoming general manager of Unilever UK & Ireland last July.

However, it was announced earlier this year that he would replace Jean-Marc Huët as the company chief financial officer.

Boswell – once named Marketer of the Year by Women's Wear Daily – has spent the past four years overseeing Unilever’s Personal Care division from its New York office. She oversaw the launch of Simple, among the best-selling skincare brands in the UK, in America along with haircare brand Clear.

Prior to that, she was president of global brand at Alberto Culver before it was purchased by Unilever in 2011, and chief operating officer at Avon North America.

Boswell said: “I am delighted to be taking on this role in one of the most diverse and competitive markets in the world. The UK has a sophisticated consumer base and a dynamic retail environment and I look forward to building on the strong foundations of Unilever UK brands.”

Unilever will be looking to Boswell to breathe new life into its UK & Ireland business, where growth of late has been stagnant.
