McDonald’s has issued an apology to a social media savvy duo after heavily lifting their parody photo Twitter campaign documenting a man’s infatuation with a burrito.

The viral photoshoot, catalysed by its inclusion in a Buzzfeed article, was launched in July on Twitter by photographer Kristina Bakrevski and writer David Sikorski.

Lo and behold, at the start of August, McDonald’s initiated a suspiciously very similar Twitter campaign boasting not a burrito but the $2.50 double cheeseburger combo deal.
