Johnny Depp plays itinerant hero for Dior’s Sauvage fragrance

Everyone’s favourite pirate Johnny Depp has been chosen to front a campaign for Dior’s new Sauvage fragrance, taking centre stage in a short film dubbed Into the Wild.

Stills from the film, which will be released on 2 September, depict Depp deploying his rugged good looks with ruffled hair and ostentatious jewellery.

Depp has been cast as ‘the hero of an epic road movie’, driving a sports car through a cityscape for the campaign which is set in an arid desert before saying: ‘I have to get out of here. Which way? I don't know’.

To whet appetites ahead of the main release Dior have released some stills from the campaign on Instagram, depicting Depp in an arid desert landscape with nothing but an Eagle for company.
