Chicken chain KFC has unleashed a new ad campaign featuring ‘Saturday Night Live’ veteran Norm MacDonald as brand founder (and mascot) Colonel Sanders.

Four new slots to air during autumn from Wieden + Kennedy underline the $5 (or $20) Fill Up meal and the "reboot" of the iconic mascot.

Kevin Hochman, chief marketing officer KFC US, said: “Other than not quite looking like him, his voice being different, and his inability to cook the world’s best chicken, we thought Norm was the perfect choice to play the Real Colonel. I think the fans will agree.

“The new set of ads are more of that same homage to the things that made Kentucky Fried Chicken such an important part of American families.”
