Vice Sports has partnered with Reebok to create a series of short documentaries following extreme athletes in training and giving viewers a first-hand experience through YouTube’s 360-degree virtual reality functionality.

The first episode in the new series titled The Moment features parkour athlete and stuntman Ronnie Shalvis as he showcases his talents with jumps and flips through Goblin Valley State Park.

At around four minutes into the six minute film viewers are offered the opportunity to view the action in YouTube’s 360-degree virtual reality functionality. The interactive tool allows users to take control of the point-of-view camera and look in any direction as Shalvis runs, jumps and flips through the desert landscape.

Upcoming episodes in the series will professional dunker Sir Isaac White, MMA star Paige VanZant and champion rock climber Sierra-Blair Coyle.

The Moment documentary series in the latest in a string of intimate documentaries from Vice Sports which has recently covered the rock climbing scene in Lebanon and star NBA player Karl-Anthony Towns.

The sports arm of the global media company strengthened its position following the appointment of Reggie Love, president Barack Obama’s personal assistant and aid as well as The New Yorker’s managing editor Catlin Kelly.
