Cars.com names Colette LaForce as chief marketing officer

Chicago-based Cars.com has named Colette LaForce as chief marketing officer (CMO) where she will be responsible for brand marketing, advertising, pricing and analytics, communications, creative services plus events for the online car research company.

Previously, LaForce served as CMO at semiconductor company Advanced Micro Devices (AMD). Prior to that, she worked at Dell where she held the roles of CMO and global vice president of its services division.

Commenting on her appointment, LaForce said: “The opportunity to help Cars.com deliver outstanding business performance through marketing innovation and best-in-class digital experiences for buyers, sellers and advertisers alike is very exciting to me.”

She will report to CEO and president of Cars.com Alex Vetter, and will be based at the company’s Chicago headquarters.

Linda Bartman served as CMO of Cars.com from 2012 until January of this year, according to her LinkedIn profile. She is now global CMO at CDK Global, an information technology and digital marketing company for the automotive retail industry.
