In response to O2's recent advertising faux pas where it was forced to pull a promotion north of the UK border promoting England's Rugby World Cup campaign, Caledonia Best has issued its own cheeky response.

As a result, the official beer of Scottish rugby has placed ads around Edinburgh that read: "Ono, You didn’t just put up an England poster, did you?”

JP Murphy, head of brand marketing at Tennent’s, said: “Caledonia Best has enjoyed strong connections with Scottish Rugby for the last couple of years so we were more than happy to take these spots after they became available. We’re sure it was an honest mistake on O2’s part, though we have to admit we did have a bit of a laugh putting this together. It's all good fun."

Last week O2 admitted that it had made a mistake of issuing the campaign in Scotland and reacted by replacing the ads with its Priority campaign instead.
