An Australian football fan is trying to sell A-league side Brisbane Roar on Gumtree for $3.50 in a jab at the club’s tangle with debt.

The ad for Australian side first appeared on Monday and has been visited by over 2,000 potential buyers.

Listed by user Cfong, the ad describes listing describes Brisbane Roar as a “successful football club with many leather bound books. Starts well, and guaranteed to put a smile on your face the first time. Currently run by an amazing former Socceroo with great style and an even better smile."

However, the user was then forth right regarding issues with the product: “Seems to have some issues around undisclosed liabilities. Thankfully, comes with bonus scapegoats to blame these on. Comes with two marquees, FIVE time championship keeper, new logo, miscellaneous bunnings chairs and some excess baggage."

He concluded: “Will include old logo and spare parts for buyers who make serious offer. Chairman not included. Sold as is.”

Assumedly Cfong does not actually own the club, meaning it could be flagged up as a fake listing and removed by the firm.
