Long-time BBC Breakfast presenter Bill Turnbull has accidentally swore pre-watershed on live television on Tuesday morning.

Slipping up on the word ‘client’, Turnbull instead blurted out the more off-colour c-word. Ever the professional, the BBC veteran continued the public health story without acknowledging the gaffe.

The BBC however issued a quick apology: “Bill unintentionally stumbled over his words and we apologise if any offence was caused.”

The corporation has a long history of accidental c-bombs. Just last year BBC reporter Norman Smith dubbed Nigel Farage a “personality cunt” live on air outside Westminster.

Further back in 2011, Radio 4 presenter James Naughtie introduced Jeremy Hunt as Jeremy Cunt live on air. Naughtie covered it with a not-so-smoothly covered with an awkward cough. Check it below.
