New exhibition to open from the students affected by the Glasgow School of Art fire
An exhibition showcasing new work from the students affected by the fire at the Glasgow School of Art (GSA) will open later this month.
The group exhibition features the work of 100 artists who benefited from the Phoenix Bursary programme which was set up by the GSA with support from the Scottish Government and academic institutions across the world.
The programme was designed to support final year students who were impacted by the fire in the Mackintosh Building and provided them with up to 15 weeks' studio time, a bursary and materials budget in order to develop their practice and create a new body of work.
Half of the artists stayed in Glasgow to create their work and half to up the opportunity to undertake the project overseas.
‘The Phoenix Bursary Exhibition’ opens on 24 July at the GSA’s Reid Building and will run until 2 August.
