Mobile-first bank Atom appoints Mother as creative partner

Mobile first bank Atom Bank has appointed Mother as its strategic creative partner following a competitive pitch.

Atom, which plans to to be the UK's first digital-only banker when it opens its virtual doors later this year, has tasked Mother with leading all marketing. This will see the agency cover brand strategy as well as producing a full, integrated creative platform for future promotions.

The brief will initially focus on readying the brand for launch, positioning Atom as a customer-centric and branch-free proposition.

Lisa Wood, Atom Bank's chief marketing officer, said “We were looking for a partner who shared our energy and enthusiasm for getting people to reappraise the relationship they have with their money and their bank. In Mother we believe we have found the right partner. We share a start-up mind-set and we both have a relentless passion to challenge the status quo.”

Last November, Atom appointed Th_nk to create the brand's propostion as well come up with the design for Atom’s core technology platform.

Atom was founded by ex-Metro bank boss Anthony Thompson.
