Innocean USA’s wacky spot for old-fashioned Dallas candy store Atomic Candy has been voted by US Creative Department readers as Ad of the Week.

The ad, called ‘Explore,’ features a man standing in his bathroom as he picks at a red growth on his face that turns out to be a piece of candy. After he pulls it off and eats it, another piece of candy pops up in the same spot.

When he pulls that one off, hundreds of different colored candies fall out of his face and into the sink.

With the theme of candy exploration, the man’s mutation is meant to be seen as so strange that it could have been pulled straight from the pages of a pulp comic book from the Atomic Age.

Atomic Candy has 300 different assorted candies, sodas, and gifts.

The campaign also features poster and print elements and was produced in collaboration with Masai Art-Chile. It is currently running in local Dallas media in addition to MTV and Comedy Central.

If you’d like to vote for next week’s winner, visit our US Creative Department here. The ad that receives the most votes will be named ‘US Ad of the Week’ next Wednesday.
