So it has begun, the first stills of Apple’s upcoming flagship smartphone (the 6S) have been leaked, with the device looking much the same as its predecessor, at least on the outside.

Images acquired by 9to5 Mac reporter Mark Gurman, grant Apple fans the first look at the next must-have mobile in the tech giant's range.

Similar to the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus in size, shape and design, the S model will largely resemble its predecessors with a number of key internal alterations.

One major advancement is the inclusion of Force Touch, a pressure sensitive display which will know how hard users interact with their screens, granting scores of extra control options.

Other than that, you’ll have to be patient to learn what will appear inside the 6S in the coming months with it set to debut in the third quarter of the year.
