Global has hired Guardian Media Group's (GMG) chief financial officer Darren Singer in the same role.

Singer will join the board of the media and entertainment group reporting into group CEO Stephen Miron.

At GMG, Singer was instrumental in the development and execution of the company’s successful business transformation plan. Singer also sat on the board of Top Right Group, representing GMG’s interests in the joint venture with Apax Partners.

Miron said: “Darren brings to Global exceptional leadership, knowledge and experience, having worked at some of the world’s most prestigious media and entertainment companies. We’re delighted to welcome Darren to Global where he will be a tremendous asset as we continue to fulfil our ambitious plans for the business.”

Prior to GMG Singer was previously CFO for Europe, Middle East and Africa at WPP’s GroupM. Before joining GroupM, Singer was at Sky for 10 years, latterly in the role of director of group reporting and finance. Singer has also worked at the BBC and PwC (formerly Price Waterhouse).
