As the NBA and NHL playoffs came to an end once again reactions to their broadcasts were extremely intense. As the Golden State Warriors won their first NBA title since 1975 and the Chicago Blackhawks took home the Stanley Cup 51% of the total reactions to TV on Twitter were about the broadcasts of each game.

Here are stats from Found Remote's analytics partner Canvs followed by an infographic (note there are Game of Thrones spoilers).

  • Games 5 and 6 of the NBA Finals on Sunday and Tuesday continued to dominate Twitter reactions, accounting for 45% of total reactions in the period we measured.
  • LeBron James was mentioned in more than 651,000 total reactions during the week, nearly 11 times more than NBA Finals MVP Andre Iguodala of the Golden State Warriors. Love, funny, and hate reactions drove the majority of the emotional conversation about James.
  • Games 5 and 6 of the NHL Stanley Cup Final were next with 232,200 total reactions, representing 6% of the week's reactions.
