Steve Ballmer, former Microsoft CEO who now owns the Los Angeles Clippers’, has unveiled a new logo for the professional basketball team during an appearance on Conan.

Following a series of courtside disasters including a collapse against the Houston Rockets during a second round of playoffs Balmer is seeking to re-energise his squad courtesy of a rebranding exercise.

In a statement Ballmer said: “We have one of the top teams in the NBA, and now we have introduced a new look that is bold, edgy, powerful and truly representative of us turning the page and entering a brand new age."

Sadly the new look logo has been received about as well as the team’s sporting performances with USA Today describing the logo as ‘plum awful’, adding that ‘it looks like it is still buffering’.

CBS also laid into the ‘terrible’ and ‘conceptually awful’ new design.
