The Telegraph Media Group has appointed Barry Wyse as the new director of commerce.

Wyse will be responsible for leading the organisation's commerce business across all platforms as well as customer proposition across all of the Telegraph’s verticals.

Prior to the appointment, Wyse served as the vice president of digital for children’s retailer AlexandAlexa. He was also director of ecommerce for The White Company where he was responsible for increasing online sales from £35m in 2011 to £53m in 2013/14.

His new role will involve drawing on his 15 years of retail experience, which includes senior roles at Dell and Arcadia, to reach an estimated audience of over 70 million each month.

Dave King, executive director at TMG, said: “Commerce is an integral part of TMG’s business and we are committed to investing further in this area, particularly in ecommerce. I am delighted that Barry has joined the team here at TMG. His extensive retail experience will help us develop and enhance our customer offer.”

Wyse added: “I look forward to helping the team build upon the strong commerce offering and I am excited about the opportunities that lay ahead.”
