This year's Glug NYC event will include speakers such as creative partner at RehabStudio Tim Rodgers, chief executive of Love, Trevor Cairns, and co-founder of Moving Brands, Jim Bull.

The Drum will sponsor Glug NYC’s second event of the year, an informal ‘notworking’ session with an open bar featuring a series of talks and demonstrations from top designers in the creative community.

This event’s theme is ‘Evolution’ and will be held at UsTwo’s headquarters on Wednesday 17 June.

It will also feature a live Q&A panel from The Drum's founder and editor-in-chief Gordon Young.

What started in a London pub seven years ago now takes place around the world in cities including NYC, Beijing, and Edinburgh. In London, Glug normally sells out to 800 attendees each month.

Curated by designers for designers, Glug New York is organized by Richard Cumming, president of Two Goats. His company, based in New York City and London, helps brands and their agencies take on creative challenges that require specialist design and technology skills that may be outside of their realm.

“Glug is all about being inspired, having a few drinks and meeting wonderfully interesting people from our industry,” said Cumming.

Cairns, who held a number of leadership roles at Nike before joining Love, said: "We’re a heads down industry…anything that gets us away from the relentless nature of client projects and that moves us to a 'heads up' forum of shared experiences and knowledge has to be a positive. Experiences such as this are just as important as the next brief or pitch…and there’s beer involved.”

At Glug he plans to speak about his “gamekeeper turned poacher” journey, from being a client of Love when at Nike to running the agency today. The marketing agency works with companies including Johnnie Walker, Adidas, and Tanqueray.

Rodgers will speak about hacking and how it can be used to improve creativity in the studio. As founder and creative partner of RehabStudios, he leads the agency’s creatives and digital technologists across its three offices in London, NYC, and Belfast.

"It's always great to take time out from work and hear from amazing peers, share and take things back to your studio,” he said.

The event begins at 7pm with tickets available to book here.
