Satnav app Waze is soon to be graced with a voiceover from brawny Austrian, Arnold Schwarzenegger, as part of a partnership with the soon-to-be-released Terminator Genisys movie.

The veteran actor, who famously played a Terminator cyborg, will reprise his role to entertain and guide drivers using the Waze app. The tie up, launched to publicise the launch of movie reboot Terminator Genesys on behalf of Paramount Pictures, was first reported by USA Today.

On his work for the Google-owned service, Schwarzenegger said: "In 1984, when we did Terminator, we talked about the world being run by machines.

"It was science fiction then, now you have machines telling you where to drive."

Waze, which boasts 50 million users, will now feature directions from the former governor of California with each journey to be terminated with the "Hasta la vista, Baby" catchphrase.
