Kids Company’s chilling ‘Summer is no Holiday’ spot reminds viewers that for some children, summertime doesn’t mean beach vacations and time spent playing in the park.

The video opens with a sandcastle sitting in the middle a desolate and dreary parking lot with the sounds of seagulls, waves, and children laughing.

It continues to be featured in a number of out-of-place areas, including a dark stairwell and a dirty apartment, until a little girl is shown tapping on the side of a sandcastle bucket before you hear a man scream, “Shut up Jess, I’ve told you to stop it!”

Later in the video, the same girl is shown stepping onto a Kids Company bus.

“Please donate to Kids Company now, and help hundreds of kids, like Jess, have a safe summer,” the narrator says.

The campaign was created by creative agency Aesop.
