Vodafone is to diversify its offer to UK consumers with the launch of Vodafone Connect, a bundled package of broadband and home phone services offered to existing customers.

Roll-out of the new services begins today with the communications provider promising a pain-free switching process for those willing to take the plunge.

Utilising Vodafone’s existing nationwide fibre optic network to deliver speeds of up to 76 Mbps the service will be available in 20m premises, rising to 22m by the autumn with bundled routers connecting to a custom mobile app to allow customers to prioritise devices and deliver stronger wi-fi signals to compatible devices.

Jeroen Hoencamp, CEO of Vodafone UK said: “This is a really exciting move for Vodafone in the UK as we move our business into a new phase. We’re looking forward to bringing our consumer customers the benefits of our experience in providing fixed and mobile services, both here in the UK and elsewhere around the world. Our significant investment is creating hundreds of new jobs over the next couple of years. We are looking forward to the year ahead, including our move into offering TV services, as one which will prove to be a step-change in our customers’ lives. ”

The service will be rolled out to the general population later this summer.
