PayPal is to offer its One Touch for Web single click payments service to customers in the UK and Canada for the first time in its first expansion of the service since its US launch last month.

The extension will enable merchants to streamline their customer service across all markets with the facility being automatically enabled for most customers without the need for any integration.

By negating the need to re-enter log-in information PayPal hopes to foster more trade between consumers and merchants, reportedly seeing ‘tremendous’ results since going live by addressing the problem of checkout abandonment.

In a statement the payments service said: “At PayPal, enabling global commerce experiences that connect consumers and merchants in a seamless, secure way across devices, platforms and channels is at the core of everything we do.

“One Touch for Web will start rolling out in Canada and the UK, in the next 24 hours. We will continue to introduce these consumer experiences to more countries this summer.”

Amongst those to benefit from the new system are Airbnb, Munchery and YPlan which have reported an increase in sales, order values, adoption and loyalty.
