US based creative agency, Digital Kitchen, has been acquired by Kyu, the strategic operating unit of Hakuhodo DY Holdings.

Digital Kitchen’s client roster has included AT&T, HBO, Netflix and Microsoft.

The agency will now join two other commodities in Kyu’s portfolio: SYPartners, and The Red Peak Group.

“We have admired Digital Kitchen for some time,” said Michael Birkin, Kyu’s chief executive.

“They have created a unique offer. They combine the roles of strategic advisors and content makers in the way they build brands for their clients. This ability comes from their heritage and experience in both entertainment and content marketing and, most importantly, from their DNA of producing and making what they conceive. I’m thrilled they will become a key partner in the Kyu collective.”

The deal’s financial terms remain undisclosed.

Kyu was advised by Noel Penrose of Juniper2 Advisory and it is understood that further UK acquisitons are on the cards in order to provide International balance to the Kyu portfolio.
