A video launching the bid of Ivan Massow to be selected as the Conservative candidate for Mayor of London has generated over 350,000 views on social media since it was unveiled yesterday morning.

The 60 second animated film, created by LONDON Advertising, positions Ivan as a ‘not politics as normal’ candidate, asks Londoners for their views on what matters to them and provides an honest overview of Massow’s background, such as his experiences of alcoholism and adoption.

Massow said: “I wanted to be upfront and honest from the get-go, which is why this video is so personal. I’m not your typical politician – I hate red tape, I’ve been a Londoner for 25 years, I take the Tube and I get things done – which is why I think I’d make a positive impact on the city as Mayor. I also know I can’t do it alone, which is why I want to know (via the hastag #askivan) what issues matter to other people. I will use their views to help me make decisions on what is best for London.”

Michael Moszynski, chief executive of LONDON Advertising and one of the few political commentators to predict a small Conservative majority ahead of the recent General Election, said: “The Conservative Party needs a candidate who can reach parts of London that other Tory candidates can’t reach. If they select Ivan, I forecast he will win it.”

The film was written by LONDON co-founder and creative director Alan Jarvie and produced by Martha Green through Pointblack Films.
