Disney and Sky Sports have partnered to broadcast live from the red carpet European premier of blockbuster Tomorrowland:A World Beyond during the half time break of the high-profile Manchester United versus Arsenal showdown.

During the interval of today's match (17 May), the broadcaster’s coverage will cut to the event at Leicester Square where Sky Sports News presenter Natalie Sawyer will host the slot. The stunt, which has been planned by media agency OMD, is part of the promotions for Disney’s latest release, which starts George Clooney.

Similar to the successful Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, the family adventure is based on one of the rides at Disney’s theme parks. Tomorrowland is one of the themed land featured at the five Disney resorts worldwide that lets visitors experience what type of inventions would exist in the future

Charlotte Tudor, vice president of marketing at Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, said: “We’re delighted to be collaborating with Sky Sports on this exciting live ad for Tomorrowland: A World Beyond, which will deliver all the action and entertainment as it happens from the European premiere red carpet.”

Rachel Bristow, director of client partnerships and collaboration at Sky Media, said: “Our subscribers love Sky for the great drama and entertainment we provide, and our Premier League coverage is at the heart of that. There is something really special about watching major events play out live in front of you, and we felt that the match offered the perfect environment for a unique live experience with Disney, creating fanfare and excitement around the launch of the film.’’
