How Discovery Digital Networks is using awe to create engaging content

Discovery Digital Networks recently held their first NewFronts presentation in New York City to showcase their digital offerings. Their network now includes a powerful group of content providers including Revision3, TestTube, Animalist, SourceFed, The DeFranco Network, and FHP.

At their NewFront they announced Super Panic Frenzy from SourceFed, a new gaming-focused network and Seeker, a new online network "featuring adventurers, explorers and storytellers on journeys – both physical and emotional" that's already secured a sponsorship with Michelob Ultra.

The theme of the event was "Discover the Awe" as they presented their new and returning digital programming. Jason Silva of TestTube's Shots of Awe talked about the science of awe and how important it is to encourage people to share and engage. He even quoted a Berkeley study on the topic that describes how having "your mind blown" actually makes you "feel more connected, not just to people but to the world around."

This is the perfect receipe for social TV in a digital age and Discovery's digital content is smartly built to be shared and to connect.
