Showcase Cinemas is set to make movie night all-the-more comfortable with a £10m investment in 9,000 luxury recliners across the UK.

Nottingham, Reading and Leeds cinemas will be rebranded under the flagship Showcase Cinema de Lux brand, supplemented with full lobby refurbishments, installation of XPlus screens and upgraded lounge bars.

Duncan Short, vice president of operations at Showcase Cinema, said: “Showcase is committed to leading the way for film viewing in the UK and we pride ourselves on offering cinema goers the very best experience when watching a movie, including ultimate comfort.

“This investment comes at an exciting time, and to be the first chain in the UK to offer every single seat within the cinema as a luxury recliner at no extra cost is very special.”

The refurbishment of the three outlets will be completed for September, marking what the brand assures is “the start of Showcase Cinemas transforming the customer experience all over the UK”.

New Showcase Cinema de Lux outlets will open in Southampton and Glasgow in 2016.
