Shell turns to cinema to push V-Power Nitro+ fuel in special effects monster ad
Shell has launche a cinema advertising push to promote its V-Power Nitro+ fuel in an advert featuring a special effects monster.
The Hollywood-blockbuster-style film shows a shape-shifting creature, meant to represent the engine gunk and corrosion, pursuing a car fueled with V-Power Nitro+.
The campaign, developed by J Walter Thompson London, shows the car outperforming the monster in order to convey the importance of driving a vehicle using premium fuel.
Jason Berry, J.Walter Thomspon creative director, said: “Most drivers don’t realise that fuel can help protect their engine and the Shapeshifter monster is a memorable way to drive home the message that they must be vigilant and arm themselves with Shell V-Power Nitro+. It’s also a cool car chase story with a great baddy.”
The ad launched last night (April 23) to tie in with the UK release of Avengers II, Age of Ultron.
