Former Brand Union chairman Glenn Tutssel has joined Taxi Studio as executive creative director as part of a raft of new hires at the agency.

Tutssel, who left Brand Union last November, will now take the helm at Taxi Studio alongside founders and creative partners Spencer Buck and Ryan Wills, as the agency moves from a design-centric business to a more holistic creative agency model.

Taxi’s other key hires see Toby Kushner join as creative services director from advertising agency Bray Leino, and Kate Lenton – former managing director of Positive Digital – join as Taxi’s head of digital experience.

Commenting on Tutssel's arrival Buck explained his personal excitement, having heard a talk from Tutssel as a student at Somerset College.

"He delivered an inspirational talk backed up by mind-blowing creativity – I can still remember it clearly to this day. This instilled a steely determination in both Ryan and myself to keep searching for bigger and better ideas.

"Glenn was directly responsible for our drive to do better and better work after leaving Somerset – so it seems like serendipity to have him onboard now to help take us to the next level.”

As part of the growth at Bristol-based Taxi Studio the agency is moving to larger premises on Bath Road Studios (home of ITV West Country news) in the coming weeks.
